LIVE CD
The Live CD is a quick and simple way to try the NullBound Malware Prevention System. There is
no software to install and the only requirement is a blank writable CD. While the Live CD is a fully
functioning version of the NullBound Malware Prevention System, it is not recommended for production because
all settings are lost when the computer is shutdown or rebooted.
Setup
-
After burning the ISO to a CD using standard CD recording software, the Live CD can be booted off of by most computers.
-
When the Live CD is finished booting, you may login using the username root
and the password toor. After successfully logging in, you may type the command
ifconfig to obtain the current IP address.
-
Once you obtain the IP address, you may direct your web browser to
http://ip of computer:10000 (Example: http://192.168.1.1:10000).
-
Once connected to the web interface you will be prompted by a few questions to get
the NullBound Malware Prevention System configured properly.
-
After successfully answering the configuration questions, it is now ready to operate
in your environment. You may now go into the System Configuration page and start the
MalFilter, WebFilter, and HostFilter services as necessary.
-
Try directing your web browser to http://test.nullbound.com. If the system is operating
correctly, you should be unable to connect. After failing to connect you should see an alert
for NullBound.Definition.Test in the log.
